Nightward / Memorial star map
Memorial star map — their sky, kept
Grief has very few objects to attach itself to. This is one: a real, checkable, unsentimental record of what the sky was doing on a night that will not come again.

Deliberately quiet
The Memorial design does not use gold, does not use bright colour and does not use an ornament anywhere. Deep ground, a single disc, and text set small. Everything in it is an attempt not to overstate — which, in our experience, is what people actually want from a remembrance print and rarely find.
Which date to choose
Most people choose the date of the death, and that is what the design assumes. Many choose a birthday instead, or a wedding date, or an ordinary evening that happened to matter. There is no wrong answer, and the card does not label the date as anything — it simply records it.
It prints for a service
The file is high enough resolution to enlarge for an order of service, a memorial table or a framed print for the family. One purchase, printed as many times as you need.
How it works
- Pick the moment. Date, time and place — anywhere on Earth.
- Make it yours. Names, a message, and the design you want.
- See it before you pay. The finished card renders as you type.
- Download and print. A 3000×4200 file — a clean 10×14″ print.
Questions people ask
- Can I use it for a pet?
- Yes, and people do. The design says nothing about who it is for.
- Does it have to say anything?
- No. A name and a date is enough, and you can leave the message line empty.
- Can I add a short quote?
- Yes — the message line takes a line or two. Keep it short; it is set small on purpose.
- Is the sky accurate for dates a long time ago?
- Yes. The calculation runs backwards for centuries without losing accuracy at this scale.

The memorial designs
Every one is the real design, drawn live — not a photograph of one. Open any of them and it becomes yours: your date, your place, your words.
The designs are loading — or your browser has JavaScript turned off, in which case the designer itself will not run either.
By city
Latitude decides which half of the sky you can ever see — so the same date over two cities is genuinely two different maps.
